Indigenous Armour celebrates the cultural wealth of indigenous people. We have a unique language, knowledge systems and practises which metaphorically can be likened to our armour. We celebrate our identity; we celebrate our collective physical and cultural survival. We have been resilient in the face of discrimination. Alongside other indigenous clothing brands, we offer Indigenous Armour created by Mataia Keepa from his papa kāinga in Te Koutu, Rotorua.

FOUNDER
Ko ōku waka, ko Te Arawa, ko Tainui, ko Tokomaru.
He raukura ahau nō Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Kura Kaupapa Māori me Te Wharekura, he mangō ā-Whiro hoki nō Te Panekiretanga o te reo Māori and a graduate of Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato.
I’ve recently moved back home to continue with my kaupapa of normalising te reo Māori and tikanga Māori in and around Rotorua.
I am a proud father to Te Aumangea Uakaiwhatu Timutimu-Keepa and would be ecstatic to model my apparel alongside him one day.
Tēnā tātou katoa.
